There are several means to prevent or maintain U.S. wages should a form of amnesty be passed. Enforcing existing DOL Regulations is one way. The other is to have CIS overview wages paid to professional and skilled worker aliens. If their offer letter indicates a lower wage than what the job position calls for, in the specific area of the country, the petition is denied.

I have an opinion about immigration. 3 things: Grant amnesty, close the borders, enforce the laws. This should be part of the political process.

Steven, the system should pair with your iPhone in just several seconds when you run through the instructions found in the A3 manual. This worked fine for me even with the older 1.0 iPhone software. I haven't looked at this section of the manual in a while, so don't remember it well. I'll check it again later.

The problems that I had with the iPhone continuously connecting and disconnecting seem to have been largely resolved in the 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 iPhone updates.

You might also check with one of the Audi forums, like the AudiWorld.com A3 forum where I hang out, to see if someone there has some good advice.

I just got my iPhone. A3 in Feb. I waited 1/2 hour for the systems to pair, and I got nothing. Any ideas are much appreciated. iPhone has 1.0.2 software loaded.

Wikipedia is horrible. The best all of us can do is abandon it. It will, at best, be remembered as a failed experiment. Wikipedia will finally be recognized for what it is, pornographer and egotist Jimmy Wales' personal blog el grande, run by a few of his IT geeks who are too foolish to recognize his exploitation. Or too masochistic to care.

Yes, I'd beware especially the slovenly gauls. I predict they'll ruin it and then centuries hence expend great effort defending their beautiful language from further ruin.

Jeff: I had not seen those wonderful obits of Runciman until now. Thanks for pointing me at them.

The only work of Runciman's that I've read is his Sicilian Vespers. After I finish my thesis, I think I'll reread it and then pick up his 3-volume History of the Crusades.

Craig, if you haven't seen the dramatic obits of Byzantine historian Steven Runciman published in British newspapers when he died in 2000, they're well worth a read. They've all been collected and posted here..
